Come join the Second Annual Soul Shine Celebration, Thursday, June 21, 5 p.m. at the Town Center Stage Park. Performers take the stage in honor of beloved local Mark Robin and the community that rallied around him.

A soulful celebration on June 21

As they have for the past several years, the Hungry Moose Market and Deli will once again sponsor the first Music in the Mountains concert featuring The Kitchen Dwellers and Big Sky local band, The Well. The Kelly Nicholson Band will kick off the music at 6 p.m. The evening will also include a carnival, complimentary food and drink and plenty of fun for all. Carnival games and activities begin at the Town Center Stage Park at 5 p.m.

Soul Shine Celebration is a tribute to the incredible community support shown Hungry Moose founders, Jackie and Mark Robin and their family during Mark’s battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which took Mark’s life on Dec. 18, 2017. As a lifelong writer, Mark was very open about his struggles chronicling them in his blog, He experienced a very fast progression of the disease. He lost his ability to move, eat and speak less than nine months after diagnosis. Mark was able to communicate for a time with an eye gaze computer and continued to write even after he could no longer speak or use his hands.

“We knew we would carry on Soul Shine even after we lost Mark. We just didn’t know it would be so soon,” said Jackie. “His memorial service was on the winter solstice and now we can celebrate him again on the summer solstice.”

While all of the activities and food and beverages are complimentary, donations of any amount are encouraged throughout the event to benefit the Gleason Foundation and the Evergreen Chapter of the ALS Association, two organizations which support those living with ALS as well as one research facility working on a cure.
