Meet your champions

The undefeated 7/8th grade Ophir Lady Miners continued their winning streak on Jan. 26 at the Monforton Rural League Tournament, beating Monforton in the morning 37-30. Led by Jessie Bough’s 17 points, the Lady Miners recovered from an early eight-point deficit to outscore Monforton 20-10 in the second half.
The Miners kept it going during the championship match, taking on and besting Anderson later that day, 32-25. This was a balanced offensive attack, with six girls scoring; once more led by Bough who garnered eight points.

These weekend wins brought the 7/8thgrade Lady Miners to a 10-0 record.

The 7/8thgrade team along with their 5/6thgrade counterparts take on West Yellowstone on the road on Jan. 31 and return to West for a tournament on Feb. 2. You can catch the Lady Miners during their next home games – the younger team plays St. Mary’s on Feb. 5 and both teams host West Yellowstone on Feb. 12.
