Ophir plays up in Churchill
When the Lone Peak High School varsity team heads to the Manhattan Christian Invitational volleyball tournament on Sept. 29 they’ll play on courts warmed up the previous week by the Ophir Miners.
Coach Whitney McKenzie brought four teams to a middle school tournament on Sept. 22. Two teams were made up of fifth and sixth graders and two with seventh and eighth graders. Each squad includes between seven and nine kids.
“We just want to come out and play and have a good time,” said McKenzie, clearly proud of how her players stepped up to the recent challenge. “We have fifth and six graders playing seventh graders today, so it’s super exciting to play up a little bit. And these girls are excited to rock. They love to play.”—DM
