Lady Horns winner in match up with former coach

Using his best “Are you ready to rumble?!?” voice, John Hannahs announced KP Hoffman in the starting lineup for the Lone Peak Big Horns and the senior stand out affectionately ran over to greet her former coach, Nubia Allen. Allen moved to West Yellowstone and is now leading the Lady Wolverines.

Right from the start, Hoffman showed she’s been coached well over the years. With fellow senior Jayleen Cole hitting from the outside, Hoffman asserted herself inside in the Jan. 11 game. Cole sank threes and Hoffman dominated the paint, while Emma Flach owned the right baseline, using her quickness to drive around Wolverine defenders on her way to 13 points. Solae Swenson tossed in six points, adding both hustle and rebounding. Backups Reilly Germain and Brooke Botha also saw quality minutes, with Botha starting for the Horns. It all proved to be too much for West as LPHS won 52-43.

The following night away at Sheridan, nearly the entire team put the ball in the basket, with Lone Peak winning easily 61-20.
